Listening to: The Brilliant Green - Angel

Streats had its farewall party tonight at Central Mall. As with all goodbyes, it was filled with anecdotes, laughter and tears. One by one, the editors, reps, production staff and ops personnel took to the stage to share their experiences with the paper.

Three more days before the end. I wish everyone the very best.

Listening to: Aussie bands on triple j radio

Yesterday evening, I was at Mohd Sultan Road. But not to club of course... (clubbing on Sunday night? Err. =X)

The place is most quiet before dark. But I was on a mission! To eat more fondue, hahaha. This time at the Gallery Hotel.

This is really, really good stuff. Recommended! (y)(y)

It was so good, even my notebook couldn't resist! (note: picture not posed in any way!)

But after eating so much chocolate in three days, I really need a break. Don't really like it all that much, hahaha. :)

Listening to: Coldplay - Trouble

After the excesses of Christmas Eve, I stayed at home yesterday. Some of my cousins came over and we had a very good time. :)

First off to start the day:

Mahjong! My living room resembled a gambling den 'cos we had two tables going on. ;)

I treated everyone to yummy Venezia gelato! Damn it was good...

At dinner time, the ten of us (including my parents) headed down to Chomp Chomp for dinner. Surprisingly, it wasn't as crowded as we thought it would be! Here's a preview of the carnage that would ensue...

Hohoho. It was quite a gastronomic sight to behold. And after we were finally done:

We had consumed: Hokkien mee, carrot cake, stingray, sotong, la la (some shelled thingie), gong gong (another shelled thingie), fried kangkong, BBQ chicken wings, satay bee hoon, dessert and sugarcane juice. Total cost: $121.40. :)

Was back to the mahjong table after dinner, and my cousin Ivan demonstrated how it's possible (or impossible? :P) to multi task:

We were singing Beyond songs and it was much fun. Watch a video here.

Was lots of fun and laughter with the family... the perfect way to spend Christmas. :)

Listening to: No Doubt - Oi To The World

I'm proud to say that barely six hours after returning home from a predominantly alcohol-driven party, I'm up and none the worse for wear. :)

Was at Jon's place last night... he had invited his JC classmates over in the afternoon and uni friends in the evening. As his childhood friend, I didn't fit into any of the categories haha, but I get on quite well with the VJ people so it was quite OK.

Let's just say that there was a lot of alcohol on display last night:

There's rum, whiskey, beer, vodka, barcardi, tequila and gin. And we finished most of it, hoho :)

Jon had invited his friends' cell group to come carolling... it was quite a nice experience to have people singing Christmas carols right inside the home.

The carollers and their lone adoring fan, hahaha. Okay I'll stop with the fan jokes. =X

Over the course of the night, two friends got drunk and it was not a pretty sight. But Jon had two friends who were damn pro at taking care of the concussed people; they called themselves the "PRT" - Puke Rescue Team, lol.

After seeing drunk people do what drunk people do, most of us didn't feel like drinking anymore! So after one Heineken, four gin tonics, three screwdrivers and other assorted stuff, I stopped. So I wouldn't be like this:

Heheh. And so that's my Christmas Eve for you. More general merriment has been ordered today... stay tuned.

Listening to: Jesse McCartney - Beautiful Soul

Woke up this morning to a slightly dry and scratchy throat. The reason: two rounds of rich, sweet and warm chocolate fondue yesterday.

The good part: it was free (!); the bad: I think I'm suffering from COKE* (Chocolate Overkill Encephalis) now.

But before you start thinking that I've gone mad, let me explain that I was on assignment for Chron! Haha. Yeah it's a little (ok, very) last minute... but I had to bail someone out mah. ;)

Shall do a full report when I'm done reviewing the places (two down, one to go). But for now, I need to get a drink of water again...

Happy Christmas Eve, people. :)

* "Encephalis" is used incorrectly here, deliberately. COKE is a nicer sounding acro than, urm, COK. Hahaha.

You Are "Joy to the World"
Joy to the world, the Lord is come! Let earth receive her King; Let every heart prepare Him room, And heaven and nature sing, It's not about what you get under the tree But sharing love with family, friends, and strangers

Christmas carols. You start hearing them in shopping malls by early November, and they'll be haunting you relentlessly until Boxing Day at least.

Yesterday, I wrote that I don't feel anything for Christmas this year... today, I still don't, haha. To me, it's not a time for exchanging gifts or wild parties... heck, you can do those things all year 'round. But it's perhaps a good time for reflection on the year gone by.

I just realised that I'll be 24 years old next year. God damn!

Anyways, here's a few lines from one of my favourite songs for this time of year. Just because I don't like Christmas doesn't mean I hate the songs. ;)

John Lennon wrote this in 1971... the words are still quite relevant today.

Happy Christmas (War Is Over)

And so this is Christmas,
and what have you done?
Another year over,
and a new one just begun.

And so this is Christmas,
I hope you have fun,
The near and the dear ones,
the old and the young.

A very Merry Christmas,
And a Happy New Year.
Let's hope it's a good one,
Without any fear.

And so this is Christmas,
for weak and for strong,
For rich and for poor ones,
the war is so wrong.

And so happy Christmas,
for black and for white,
For yellow and red ones,
let's stop all the fight.

A very Merry Christmas,
And a Happy New Year.
Let's hope it's a good one,
Without any fear.

Christmas is in three days... but I don't feel anything whatsoever. But I'll be going to watch yann and friends carol at the Hilton tomorrow night! It had better be good... haha :)

It's Wednesday night... hmmm. The other day, Justin was telling me about his trip to Zouk on Wednesday... "I was expecting to see you there." Hahaha. Not anymore dude.

Tired as hell today... no mood to write too much. Later guys.
