Listening to: Live - Lightning Crashes

Christmas is in three days... but I don't feel anything whatsoever. But I'll be going to watch yann and friends carol at the Hilton tomorrow night! It had better be good... haha :)

It's Wednesday night... hmmm. The other day, Justin was telling me about his trip to Zouk on Wednesday... "I was expecting to see you there." Hahaha. Not anymore dude.

Tired as hell today... no mood to write too much. Later guys.

Listening to: Spandau Ballet - Round And Round

On Dad's birthday this past weekend, we went to Cafe Vienna at United Square for buffet! Here are some drool-inducing pix:

Why is Buddha Jumps Over The Wall named as such?

Wah piang eh. I wanna eat this all over again! :X

We gave Dad a picture of our family in a nice frame for him to put in his new office. It's been quite a while since I actively got something for him... he was suitably surprised, heheh. :)

That's my ol' Dad on his 59th birthday. :)

Last picture of the day: spotted on the floor in my sister's room:

It's a Mr Men stuffed toy (can't remem which one). He must have jumped off the bed and sat on the floor! Wahaha ;)

Listening to: Barenaked Ladies - Pinch Me

I have decided to stop being obsessive meticulous about posting an entry every day, haha. Anyway, how many of you out there stop by : the cool blue submarine : daily?

Really sleepy... zzz. Afternoon naps are nice. Waking up from one makes me feel really sedentary, heheh. Think I'll take one now... nothing much to say at this time.

Listening to: U2 - Stay (Faraway, So Close!)

It's Dad's birthday today... and also pris' birthday! Concidentally, her mum's birthday is on the same day as my sister's, lol. Happy birthday to them both. :)

Despite going to bed at the late (for me lah) hour of 2.30am, I woke up bright and early this morning to attend an introductory course to floorball! It was held at Hougang CC, which is within walking distance to my place lah.

The course was conducted by a member of the national women's floorball team... she taught us how to do basic dribbling and passing, before we started playing a match proper. I must say that the game is not difficult to play, but quite hard to be good at. And it's also damn tiring, lol. Was seeing stars and panting like a dog after a while. But it's quite fun and I scored two goals. :P

I'm just not looking forward to waking up tomorrow, immobilised by a strained back/arm/leg/whatever. :S

Listening to: Electrico - So Much More Inside (acoustic)

Went to develop some digital prints yesterday... was really cheap! Only 30 cents per print, no processing fee for more than six prints. The shop is at Far East Plaza second level, opposite Guardian Pharmacy. Thanks to pat for the lobang :)

Even though digital photos are really convenient and all, there's still nothing like looking at real pictures. ;)

Anyways, I was at the Singapore Art Museum last night to attend this acoustic gig called Quiet: The New Loud. There were four local/regional acts performing acoustic versions of their songs.

The gig was held inside the old SJI chapel... with reddish lights all around, it was quite a surreal environment. (It also made for lousy pix (n))

Kelvin Tan started the gig off... wasn't a very good idea. His peculiar brand of country/rock/whatever kinda alienated the largely young audience. All his songs seemed to be about being angry with God.

Thankfully, Force Vomit was much better. The three-piece of two guitars and a bass sounded really tight... but somehow, I couldn't stop thinking about how mat their songs were, even when sung in English. Heheh. ;)

There was also Shelley Leong, a singer-songwriter from across the Causeway. Sounding a little like Tori Amos (or, according to agent s., Jewel if you will), her music was easy to listen to... but a little too forgettable.

It was quite obvious that most of the audience had forked out $16 each to see the closing band...

... who were in the audience watching Shelley Leong, haha.

Yup, who else but Electrico again lah!

Despite claiming to have only started rehearsing two days before, the band sounded damn bloody good unplugged (I swear I'm being objective here!). Dan was playing a Martin (omg) and he also had a mandolin, lol.

Amanda was playing the marimbas (something like a xylophone I guess), but she looked kinda bored throughout the set. Desmond sang backup!

Rearranging most of the songs made things really interesting... "Funky Ass Cartoon" became bossa-nova and "Studman" became emo, for example! Macham MTV Unplugged sia... (y)

The Electrico (Dave: "Without electricity we're just 'O'... or 'Acoustico!") set was worth the entry price already! Too bad to those of you who missed this. :)

Listening to: OMD - If You Leave

Was at Blue Moo to watch B_d_k P_ntai*! It's been quite a while since I was there. The weather was a little threatening all night but luckily it didn't rain.

Saw some familiar faces there last night I think... was quite funny 'cos I was quite sure who the person was, and I think she was too. But didn't talk as never knew her that well in JC anyway. Haha.

ash and rie, I didn't see you girls :(

It was a packed house as usual... the stage has shifted since the last time I was there. The guys were very good as usual!

The Oreo shakes were yummy...

The winds were blowing quite powerfully... the clouds were moving very quickly! Here's a particularly large cloud, illuminated by the Blue Moo lights. Heheh.

I took a video of the funny song where Gordon does a running translation of a Hokkien song. Anyone wants? Anyways, thanks kay lii for having us along yeah :)

Didn't feel like heading home straight after, so we took a short walk from YMCA to Somerset MRT. Along the way, we spotted this:

Located just opposite the Istana gates is this thingie (I have no idea what this is). Quite nice at night...

Finally, the pic isn't that clear but there are red and blue blinking police lights on the road. Thought it looks quite nice and Christmassy, muahaha. :)

*I have not spelt out the name of the group in full, as Singapore's Brainiest Lawyer (aka one of the members) has been known to Google the name. Haha. So there. ;)

Listening to: Switchfoot - Meant To Live

Here's just some pictures taken over the past couple of days that sum up my lazy week thus far.

cbb and melt hope that no one notices that they've broken the seat on the 179. :O

Clarke Quay MRT is now a training ground for vertical marathon enthusiasts...

agent s. has got a doll obsession hobby, and we headed down to the shop at Riverside Point yesterday before the movie. I was horrified at how much her purchase cost!!! Oh em gee.

My sis needed to do some shopping today and we had lunch at IKEA. Check out the lunchtime queue!

An essential part of the IKEA experience (besides the divine meatballs of course) will have to be the hot dogs, yummmmmm. :)

Finally, I've been seeing Thomas & Friends everywhere this past week. I almost swear the stupid train (whose only movable body parts are its eyes) is stalking me. :@
