Where has the weekend gone? (w)
Anyways, Saturday is truly the most precious day of the week right now... and I'm glad the one just past was pretty fulfilling and action-packed (in all senses of the word), haha...
We went cycling again! Haha... it's becoming quite fun once you know how to, well, cycle. Heheh. I'm not sure how far we went though... from the Big Splash to the Fort Road exit of the ECP, turned back and pedalled all the way to Bedok Jetty, then back to the Big Splash in just under two hours. Was a great workout (no morning-after aches and pains this time, yay!) and a nice cloudy day...
Oh, and I must mention that we witnessed three teenage boys jumping repeatedly from the jetty into the sea. They would take a short run-up before leaping over the railing gracefully... was quite a sight! One of them even did a somersault before hitting the water, hahaha.
After that, we rented Episode IV from one of those vending maching thingies! It's really quite cool haha. Watching it was kinda surreal though... it's the DVD quality Special Edition, so the images were crisp and clear (not so much the sound though). The movie is 28 years old! Wow...
And it shows, really. C3-PO and R2-D2 look like the Tin Man from The Wizard Of Oz and a dirty dustbin respectively... haha. The first 20 minutes were really boring... most of the "dialogue" (if you can call it that) came from C3-PO talking to R2-D2, who only beeps annoyingly all the time. Haha. :X
The fight sequences were pretty okay for a 28-year-old film, and Harrison Ford was the real star of the film for me, with his wisecracks and debonair attitude... no wonder he was chosen to be Indiana Jones in later years.
Hope to watch the rest of the episodes soon.
After the movie (which took quite long to get through, had to pause a couple of times 'cos someone couldn't stay awake :X), we had a late dinner of Teochew porridge near my place, and an even later supper barely two hours later at Chomp Chomp with my bros. What really struck me about the day was how quiet everywhere was... guess a lot of people were out of town for the long weekend.
So yeah, it was a Very Good Day again. Wish every day was Saturday...
